About

Forest therapy walks Australia

Forest Therapy walks Australia was launched in 2019 after I studied forest therapy with INFTA. In was in the second cohort to be trained as a forest therapist in Australia. Living in the Yarra Ranges, Warburton nature is my home and it’s been my teacher, my healer, and my place to rest my heart and soul. The name Forest Therapy Walks Australia came from my vision for wanting to create amazing retreats around Australia that included forest therapy as we have such incredible landscapes, unfortunate Covid put a damper on that vision, until now. I run beautiful day and weekend escapes in Warburton and keep your eye open for incredible pop up retreats coming throughout Australia……stay tuned….join our newsletter

Warburton has so much to offer those who are seeking a place to heal, a place to rest and rejuvenate their energy and simply to be and heal. We are so gifted with the gorgeous Yarra River, walking tracks, bird life, flora, and fauna and of course the incredible redwood forest. I love introducing visitors to the area and watching them gradually and effortlessly find their natural connection with nature through the art of forest therapy.

So many people think that forest therapy is just a walk in the park and believe me, I was the first to be a little sceptical. My first introduction to forest therapy was at the redwoods where I had walked many times, so I thought I was familiar with the area, how wrong was I. After my 3-hour experience I was blown away by how much I had missed, taken for granted and didn’t ever give time to in this incredible place.

It is now my gift to give back to others, the experience of being full immersed and the awakening of the senses, the coming back home to self that a forest therapy session can bring to person.
Forest therapy is a researched based therapy that originated in Japan in the 1980s, the government employed researchers to find ways of reducing the stress levels and debilitating pressures from their work load that people in the corporate sector were experience at that time.

The researchers knew that being in nature has a positive effect on the physical and emotional wellbeing of a person, they just didn’t know how or why. After many studies they discovered that plants release phytoncides into the air which we breath into our lungs and then these are transported through our blood stream. These phytoncides, reduce stress levels, increase natural killer cells, they are anti-bacterial, fungal, microbial, and viral.

It would be my pleasure to guide you, your family, friends, group, or work colleagues on a forest therapy walk in my beautiful hometown of Warburton.

About Tapas Accupressure Technique

TAT is short for Tapas Acupressure Technique it was developed by Tapas Fleming in the late 1990s. Tapas discovered through her studies in acupressure that at all the meridians meet at the point just above the nose and the back of the head. She began using the meeting points by adding slight pressure using fingers at the front and a hand at the back of the head. This is TAT was first developed and today TAT has been used to effectively treat stress, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, Adverse Childhood Experiences, and weight loss maintenance.

TAT is a quick and easy process and the most profound thing about TAT is you do not need to relive those traumatic experiences to achieve healing, peace, and transformation. I discovered TAT through my own journey of healing and self-development, I had spent plenty of money, time and energy attending so many different workshops that honestly left me feeling depleted, a failure, and unfixable. I walked away from this path for a few years until my curiosity was sparked by a friend who suggested I watch a video of Tapas in action. I was so impressed I made a booking in 2018 and from there my healing truly began. Today I am one of very few Certified Tapas Acupressure Professionals in Australia. I am available for zoom or skype sessions or in person sessions in Warburton where I practice.

Core Clearing Breathwork

Core Clearing Breathwork was developed by Nicholas De-Costello from the Australia Breathwork College. I studied with Nicholas in 2022 and graduated at the end of 2023. What I love about Core Clearing Breathwork is it has a way of allowing your body to speak to you through sensations, emotions, pain, and memories. It is such a gentle process that brings you back into your heart space and allows you to heal with ease.

Core clearing breathwork is most definitely not what I call the extreme sport of breathwork. The breath is gentle and flowing through the nose, down into the belly and up into the heart space where you can process your emotions and practice the art of letting go.

Because the process is guided it flows with ease and you feel the presence of being held in a beautiful safe space. Unlike the process of meditation where you can often feel frustrated, lost, or even distracted, from your very first session you will feel a definite shift.
