WHAT IS TMJ RESET
Reset is a wonderful technique that is painless and effective in relieving tension and stress. This technique allows the jaw muscles, nerves and ligaments to deeply relax allowing the jaw to find a place of balance.
Stress on this area can effect the sphenoid bone putting pressure on the pituitary gland. Your pituitary gland is a master gland and it governs your thyroid hormones, sex hormone adrenals. These all have a relationship to our levels of stress and anxiety and when these are out of balance or in fight and flight mode 24/7 we can find ourselves experiencing stress related illness.
TMJ stands for the Temporomandibular joint this joint is amazing as it influences the whole body. Our skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system our meridians and our bodies ability to hydrate.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A SESSION
TMJ is very simple and incredibly relaxing a session takes 45 mins, you can be seated or lying on your back. Your treatment will consists of specific hand positions that are designed to relax areas of the TMJ. These positions are held for several minutes, with each change of hand movement you will be asked to gently open or close your mouth. This helps to release any emotions that have been stored in the TMJ.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED A SESSION
One session can relieve pain and stress, it really depends of how long a person has been experiencing pain and discomfort. It is highly recommended to have two sessions 7 days apart as this will give you long lasting results. If you have had dental work that has left you in pain and discomfort then two sessions will be required.
